From start to finish I highly recommend Novemed, staff there so professional. I had my gastric sleeve done on the 2nd June, I had Queen Mel who looked after me during my stay as I travelled alone. My surgeon Dr Netdec Derici was brilliant and reassured going to be ok he came after surgery to see how I'm feeling and a photo. I personally want to thank all staff during my stay. Life changing. Since the arrival in Turkey I’m feeling like I’m in the right place for this surgery! Everyone from Novemed was so kind to me! All the services was amazing, my surgeon was very kind to me, also my translator Alp was nice and friendly and the nurses are very patient with me! I’m so glad I was there and everything was fine!

As a solo traveller to Istanbul for my gastric sleeve surgery I was nervous but excited. The communication before my arrival date with the Novamed care team via WhatsApp had been expectional. I arrived at the airport to be taken to a stylish black VIP style van to my hotel which was about 1 hour drive away. The hotel room was well equipped and the front desk kept me informed of when my taxi's arrived. On the day of the surgery I was taken by taxi to the hospital and greeted by my lovely translator. He was warm, friendly and informative. I immediately signed forms and spent about 2 hours having various tests. After I was given the all clear to have the gastric sleeve I had to be put to sleep to have an endoscopy. Once I woke from this I went straight into the operating room for the gastric sleeve. I'm not going to lie, the first hour after surgery was pretty awful. My translator had warned me that it would be a difficult day and it was. The gas pain immediately after surgery was intense but after an hour the pain medication had kicked in and it helped. I'd recommend asking if you can have more substantial pain relief upon waking as it was really horrible. I was in hospital for 2 nights and the nurses were wonderful. Although we had a language barrier I used Google translate on my phone and we could talk into the app and I had any questions answered immediately. The interaction with my surgeon was brief but he was very friendly and reassuring. I felt very well cared for. My dietician came to explain my diet in detail and I bought some shakes and vitamins to take home. I had originally been told they were £90 but on the day I had to pay £150 although I got an extra month's worth of vitamins. On reflection it would have been better to have bought what I needed before but it was useful to have a supply leaving hospital regardless. I was given a bag with yoghurts and various things to have during the first liquid stage of my recovery. I was able to store this in the fridge back at the hotel. My dietician has been informative and quick to respond to any questions that we have had. Most details are given via WhatsApp which has been useful. I was provided a letter to travel with my medication on the plane which was useful as I had 10 days worth of injections to take (to prevent blood clots). Since returning home the WhatsApp team have been amazing. I have felt very taken care of and listened too. Overall I feel that the Novamed team have a very smooth running system that is very well oiled in the best sense. It is clear they have done this a lot and the whole experience feels very professional and VIP. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Novamed for Bariatric Surgery - you would be in great hands. I had Gastric Sleeve surgery through Novemed on 4 May 2023. I travelled from New Zealand. I am 53 years old, mother of 5 and grandmother to 5. My experience has been simply amazing. My consultant was Damla who answered all my questions and if she didn’t know the answer she found the answer. She arranged everything perfectly. On surgery day, Sheila, dietician, met me on the steps of the hospital and walked me through all paperwork and pre-op procedures. She was an absolute angel and has become a dear friend and we stay in touch. My surgeon was Dr Muhammad Ücüncü and I am so grateful to him for his skill in performing such a life changing surgery. He’s an amazing surgeon and I’m pleased I trusted him and the entire Novemed team. I believe if you do your part to prepare well for surgery, they definitely do their part in pre and post surgery to ensure success. I highly recommend.

I went for a gastric sleeve October 2022. From the moment I enquired to now (6 months post op) I have had constant guidance and reassurance. The whole experience has been a very good one nothing was too much trouble to sort out and my companion stayed with me at no extra cost. My surgeon visited me everyday while in the hospital as did my dietician, the nurses were very attentive and the hospital clean and organised. I'm so happy with my experience my husband is now booked to have his sleeve in May.

Didn't know what or how will I feel the aftermath... It's important to note the care of consultant who ensured that I was well received and everything ran smoothly throughout my stay in Istanbul😊. Then met the translator took me through everything to be done on the day until operation 🙂. Dr Derici did a splendid job and the nutritionists all played their roles with care & how my lifestyle will be like going forward 👍. Two nights spent at hospital was such a wonderful experience since the nurses did their best taking care of me even went beyond expectations by translating with phones to ensure I understood what was happening and ensured I was relaxed. In overall, my experience was awesome & worth it!!!"

I cannot even begin to explain how amazing my experience was doing my Gastric Sleeve with Novemed. I have never had any type of surgery before especially out of my home country so of course I was nervous but throughout the whole process I felt supported. Communication with the team has been so easy even prior to the surgery so by the time I arrived in Turkey I was well informed of how my surgery day would unfold. The hospital was nice and clean and the nurses took sooo much care of me, I was honestly so sad to have left after knowing my princess treatment was over. Even the surgeon was happy to answer my questions and safely carry out the requests I had! Everything went so smoothly with the surgery, I am currently 6/7 weeks post op and I could not be happier with the progress. The dieticians are clear with meal plans and recommendation so even post op being reintroduced to food was not as confusing and overwhelming as I thought it would be. On my 1st surgery b-day after all experience and support, I would like to notice that personel on this clinic is great! Assistents, surgeons, nurses, all of them are very supportive. So all recomendation to this clinic and this professional people. They became my friends after all this time. Also, decision to do this surgery is my best decision ever: 1st of all, I am full healthy person, pill free; 2nd - I lost 55kg and thanks to all advices and everything that they tought me I believe that I will manage living healthy life. From start to finish this whole process was amazing. Every single member of Staff was very helpful, kind and supportive and the ongoing support is fantastic. I travelled alone but felt at ease from the beginning. I will definitely be looking to go back and have further surgery if needed. The hospital was extremely clean. Fantastic experience with Novemed, from the moment I contacted john he welcomed me and support me every step of the way. The team checked in with me on the morning of my flight and looked after me from the moment I landed in Istanbul. Private transport was amazing to and from air port and hospital and hotel. The surgeon and translator greeted me upon my arrival, supporting me every step off the way, surgeon reassuring me when I was nervous.
