I had gastric sleeve surgery on 10 April 18. I was apprehensive about having surgery out of the country but my experience was awesome. The doctor helped me make the best decision about what surgery was suitable for me. The administrator planned everything from the airport pickup, to hospital stay and hotel stay after. It felt nice that everything was taken care of and I could focus on my surgery and healing. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcomed and comfortable. The icing on the cake was that I was able to have my surgery in a beautiful country full of history and enjoyable activities. The price was also very affordable. I could not have asked for a better experience.

I had my gastric sleeve on 13/02/2018 with Dr. Omar. I was picked up from the airport to the hospital for tests before the surgery. I had a very good experience and smooth surgery. Friendly staffs and clean hospital. Everything went as they told me by the phone. Thank you for all the hard work. New clean hospital. The cleaners come twice a day to clean.

I had a gastric sleeve operation, but before being able carryout the original planned op Dr Alvanis had to tepair to a large hiatial hernia, which he did, immeadiately followed by gastric sleeve. The Nursing staff ate excellent every bit of care is taken, though at timed language barrier difficulties they were easily remedied with google translate. How could I not be happy 2 ops for the price of one, hiatius hernia op privately in Uk would be approx £3000.. so glad I took the the choice to sort out my weight before bad health problems occurred esp with the hernia...I chose this hospital for the fact Dr Omar Avlanis not only uses staples but glues and stitches the stomach before stapling...I recommend anyone to use the services offered at Erdem Hospital, why wait 1-2 years NHS ...a small price to pay to tegain some action over my health

I found Erdem Hospital on the WhatClinic site and read some good things about them. The communication prior to the appointment was great, so I went here for a gastric sleeve surgery. I paid what I was quoted beforehand. The treatment and service were worth the price. The doctors were rather thorough and provided all the information I needed before I arrived at the clinic. It’s been an amazing experience, overall. The staff was fantastic - words can’t explain how grateful I am to them. Once I was home, they called me for about a full month after the treatment just to make sure I was healing properly. One of the most important things I noticed when I arrive at a clinic, is the level of hygiene and Erdem Hospital was wonderful in this regard - everything was clean and tidy.

I had a gastric sleeve under Dr. Avlanmis. I was picked up from the airport and taken straight to the hospital for tests before my surgery. I had the full whack done - multiple drops of blood, endoscopy, heart tests and I was signed off as fit by 3 different doctors before I could have the surgery. I had the sleeve on my 3rd day in the country and was well enough 5 days later to go on the bus tour in Istanbul. Highly recommend! Lovely and clean, staff were really friendly and tried their best to help me out even though they didn't speak English as a first language.

Turkish people are awesome, I loved Dr. Omer Avlanmis; a true gentleman and a professional. The hospital assigned me a translator to assist with all my needs, Mrs. Amina was extremely helpful and continued to support even after leaving the hospital. The hospital took care of our stay and provided transportation from and to our hotel. I will definitely be visiting Erdem again just to say hi to the nurses and doctors who took such great care of me (and to show off my weight loss).

I had the endoscopic gastric sleeve procedure in mid-November 2017. In addition, Dr. Omar discovered my gallbladder needed to be removed as well as the needed repair of a very large hiatal hernia. A month has passed and I feel revitalized. I have more energy and am adjusting to a healthier eating regime. Most of all the weight loss is fantastic. As an American, I can honestly say, my treatment at Erdem Hospital was better than I have received in my home country. The doctors care, nursing staff, and cleanliness was excellent. The accommodations, both in and out of the hospital was great as well as the care and support from Amina, the English coordinator. Some tips: make sure you have google translator on your phone, buy a phone card from the airport so you will have phone service, as the WIFI service isn't very good at the hospital. Take a few pair of pajamas, bottoms with button-up pajama shirt. They don't use gowns. Read up on the procedure and the aftercare eating routine. You will find loads of information online. Language is one of the stumbling blocks, so the more you understand what to do pre and post-op the better.Then relax as the team will take care of you and are very knowledgeable.Buy some protein powder from GNC and take with you. Once you are released, you can depend on that and water until you get home. You can also drink clear soup if you can find it, I found a delicious fish soup at a restaurant near our hotel, with a lot of broth, I was able to eat.I personally, did not feel up to sight-seeing and just wanted to get back home. However, I was told one of the patients went on a countrywide tour. I'm in my 50's, and that could have some bearing on energy level after surgery.I watched a few videos from people who had this type of surgery and it was not beneficial, as we are all different in how we react. I suggest using a portion control device, so you do not overeat. I use a 5oz custard ramekin to help identify my portion. The difference between 3oz of food and 5 oz of food can make you vomit without realizing you have overeaten.

They have a team for international patient coordinator which helped me a lot on arranging my trip. They picked me up from the airport to hospital. Firstly the doctor explained everything to me very clearly, then I had my operation. The result is good thanks to Dr. Tamer Tas. He can speak English very clear and good. Overall, conditions of hospital are really good, staff takes care me every time. Nurses are helpful. Also, The international patient team, take care of me after the doctor discharged me. I’d been transported to a good hotel in central of Istanbul. Last day they check me up again and transfer me to the airport with a VIP car. It was a good experience for me to have this surgery with Erdem Hospital.

I had been thinking to have Gastric Sleeve for awhile, after all, other means of losing weight failed. After doing a lot of research I finally took the plunge this August. When I put my inquiries through Whatclinic, Mehmet rep of Erdem Hospital gave me a call about the procedure, we decided then to chat on Whatsapp for convenience, he explained the procedure and was very thorough with the information. I checked with 2 other hospitals but in the end chose Erdem because I feel confident with Dr. Omar's experience in gastric operation. I was proven right, from the moment I arrived everything went flawlessly, Erdem rep. picked us up at the airport and did all the transfer from airport-hotel-hospital-airport. The hospital was very modern with state of the art equipment, I had come with my husband and young son and we were given rooms with an interconnecting door at the hospital, we stayed for 4 days after the operation (which went successfully). Before the operation, they ran some tests with 4 different doctors to check if I was qualified to be operated, on the same day they found out that I was fit to carry on gastric sleeve. The next day, I had the operation. After the procedure, the nurse was very attentive and constantly checking my blood pressure, sugar level, etc during recovery time. Dr. Omar checked on me twice a day until the day where we were being transferred to the hotel. On day 7th since arrival, I was being picked up again to the hospital for a final check of my wound, then transferred to the airport for a flight back home, at this point I can walk already. But the hospital also gave me a letter to be given to airline staff so they provide wheel chair and special assistance at the airport. I highly recommend Erdem Hospital to do your procedure.

I did a sleeve surgery because I have been fat since my childhood and I gave up on losing weight. I heard about the surgery and it went as I was told. I did analysis one day before the surgery and then did the surgery with no problems. The doctors were nice and very good at their jobs, and so is everyone in the hospital. If you need the surgery, go for it. Erdem Hospital I contacted the hospital via Whatclinic and got to know details about the surgery and the trip. I travelled with both of my parents and everything was well organized. We got all the help we needed. The hospital was comfortable, doctors were very good and the nurses were helpful and nice. Mehmet, the coordinator whom I contacted before travelling, has also helped us during our stay (10 days) in Istanbul. I highly recommend both the surgery and the hospital. I also want to mention that Istanbul is a beautiful city to visit, you can travel few days before the surgery and take a tour around the city and try delicious Turkish food that, of course, if you don’t already live there. One more thing, I did contact many clinics and hospitals before choosing Erdem Hospital, the prices differ from hospital to hospital but you don’t get better treatment for a higher price, as I know some people who did it in other hospitals with higher prices and less care. Hope you do your surgery and be as satisfied as I am.

I had gastric balloon done at Erdem Hospital this March 2017, wonderful hospital, the doctor and the staff. I would definitely come back to them if I need any thing else done. They were quite helpful, honest, supportive and nice. To clarify this is not a small clinic, it's actually a big hospital with three branches in Istanbul alone. The transportation, hotel and translation services were all included so I didn't have to worry about any details. They also offered me the best price compared to other clinics in Istanbul.
